Navistar beats expectations with second quarter results

LISLE, Ill. — Navistar International Corp. beat expectations for the second quarter with strong financial performance driven by demand for its trucks.

The Lisle, Ill., company reported net income of $55 million in the second quarter compared with a net loss of $80 million during the same period in 2017.

Led by a 22 percent increase in truck sales, company-wide revenue reached $2.4 billion in the quarter, up 16 percent from $2.1 billion a year earlier.
