TUCSON, Ariz. – EPIC Nomad TV and Nomadic Life Films has announced the signing of YouTuber and full-time nomad Tom Morton to co-eirect the RV Nomads feature-length film scheduled for premiere in fall of 2018. Morton will join the production crew in Silverton, Colorado, in late May and will help lead the project through the primary production schedule in the summer of 2018.
The RV Nomads motion picture is being created as a story built on a hybrid-style foundation that combines the elements of a documentary with the entertainment value of an action/adventure film. The project aims to fully detail the epic true story of how hundreds of thousands of people are unplugging from a traditional way of living in favor of minimalist digital nomadism through living in recreational vehicles. The cast includes RVing YouTubers such as RVLove, Less Junk < More Journey, Exploring The Local Life, Drivin’ and Vibin’, Hebard’s Travels and, of course, Mortons On The Move.
Tom and his wife, Caitlin, have a long established presence in the full-time RV community. The nomadic couple live in a fifth-wheel RV and document their journeys on a popular YouTube channel called “Mortons On The Move.” They also co-manage the “Road Gear Reviews” YouTube channel. Morton is a certified drone operator and manages a company specializing high end aerial cinematography (Windtrap Digital).
“Tom Morton brings a wealth of experience to the table. His understanding of recreational vehicles, the RV Life and what it takes to capture it all in film is extraordinary,” said RV Nomads Producer Eric Odom. “He’s an incredible asset to the team, to the project and to the overall story behind the film.”
Julie Bennett, EPIC Nomad TV’s Director of Communications, said Tom Morton is an important piece of the puzzle because of his authentic, organic roots in the RV community. “Tom has lived and breathed the nomadic lifestyle for years now and his perspective of what it all means, what drives it and what it takes to project an accurate depiction of the story is paramount to the film’s success,” said Bennett.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to be involved with this movie. I have wanted to work on a feature film for a long time and now getting to be part of a film about a lifestyle of which I am a part and passionate about is incredibly exciting,” said Morton. “I would like to see this film provide a true narrative of what the full time RV movement is like and how it has impacted those involved with it. In addition I hope we can shed light on the greater story of the reasons behind the major lifestyle changes many of the cast and individuals in this movement make.”
He went on to say “Through the filming of this movie I am going to be traveling and living with the cast and crew, sharing bonfires, meals, adventures and misadventures on the road. As co-director I look forward to using the camera to capture these nomads’ stories and piece them together into one epic story to share with the world. I hope this movie inspires others to take a chance, find adventure and live life on your own terms.”
