MI: Business bounces back after devastating fire

(April 20, 2017) -- No one was hurt and all of the company’s recreation vehicles and campers were spared in the flames. Kriniak said what wasn’t spared were decades of commemorative Christmas plates given to Jayco RV dealers by the company that were among a cache of items that comprised four decades of great business memories.

ALPENA, Mich. —  Most of the items that burned in the Sept. 23, 2015, fire that destroyed Sports Unlimited could be replaced, owner Doreen Kriniak said.

There were tools, a customer’s ATV, various parts and stock the flames took in the fire, which was caused due to a construction accident. No one was hurt and all of the company’s recreation vehicles and campers were spared in the flames. Kriniak said what wasn’t spared were decades of commemorative Christmas plates given to Jayco RV dealers by the company that were among a cache of items that comprised four decades of great business memories.
