Massachusetts service center hosts grand opening

(March 26, 2012) -- “I’ve been providing mobile repair service at homes and campgrounds for 15 years,” Cook said. “I quickly realized that getting RV parts was very inconvenient for area campers. The closest supplier is in Kingston, N.H. Now with the new store, owners can get supplies and parts locally."

SALISBURY, Mass. — Bob’s RV Parts and Service conducted the grand opening of its recreational vehicle parts store in Salisbury, Mass., last weekend. The new store is the only RV parts provider in the local area, said owner Bob Cook.

Bob’s RV Parts and Service is located at the Black Bear Plaza at 58C Main Street in Salisbury Mass., adjacent to the Black Bear Campground. The celebration featured door prizes, refreshments and discounts on all merchandise in stock.

Cook is the retired chief of the Salisbury Fire Department, having served as a Salisbury firefighter from 1957 to 1998. In addition to his work in the RV field, Cook is currently Salisbury’s Emergency Management Director. With a background in electronics, Cook a nationally certified master RV technician.

A lifetime camper, he decided to open his mobile RV repair business after his retirement from the fire department.

“I’ve been providing mobile repair service at homes and campgrounds for 15 years,” Cook said. “I quickly realized that getting RV parts was very inconvenient for area campers. The closest supplier is in Kingston, N.H. Now with the new store, owners can get supplies and parts locally.

“We will stock basic needs and accessories for everyday camping, and we will provide all other parts not in stock within 24 hours normally. Our prices will be competitive with all of the big suppliers,” he added

The new store will offer a convenient place to shop for RV needs and basic prepackaged foods and drinks for the campers at the Black Bear Campground.

Cook performs on-site mobile repairs for all problems with RVs, including appliances, air conditioners, electrical problems, plumbing, roofs and awnings. Bob does not accept engine and drive chain work. He is also available for emergency service for his customers seven days a week.
