LSI awards top-performing Jellystone parks

MILFORD, Ohio — Leisure Systems Inc. (LSI) has presented its annual awards to exemplary Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort franchisees throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The awards were issued on the final day of LSI’s annual symposium at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky, in the following categories:

Overall System Camp-Resort of the Year:

This is LSI’s highest honor across the entire Jellystone Park network. It is given to the Camp-Resort whose facilities and operations exceed all Jellystone Park standards. Recipients must be Pinnacle Club members, meaning they rate 95 percent or higher on the annual LSI assessment of their facilities and operations. Award recipients also must have achieved strong growth in business, implemented sustained improvements, and be leaders in the industry:

Tabor City, N.C.

 Regional Camp-Resort of the Year:

This is LSI’s highest honor at the regional level. It is given to Camp-Resorts whose facilities and operations exceed all Jellystone Park standards. Recipients must be Pinnacle Club members, meaning they rate 95 percent or higher on the annual LSI assessment of their facilities and operations. Award recipients also must have achieved strong growth in business, implemented sustained improvements, and be leaders in the industry:

Eastern Region, Mt. Gilead, Ohio
Central Region, South Haven, Mich.
Southern Region, Tabor City, N.C.
Western Region, Estes Park, Colo.

 Entrepreneur of the Year:

This award is presented to Camp-Resorts with strong year-over-year growth in business. This year’s recipients, based on revenue category, include Jellystone Park franchises
in:

Montrose, Colo.
Bloomington, Ind.
Tabor City, N.C.

Multi-Unit Entrepreneur of the Year:

This award is presented to the Camp-Resort with the strongest year over year growth in business that is owned by a multi-unit franchise. This year’s recipient is:

Kerrville, Texas (Owned by Northgate Resorts)

Operator of the Year:

This award is given to an individual or individuals directly responsible for day-to-day operations of the Camp-Resort. It represents excellence in management, improved ratings and growth in business:

Jeff and Libby Foss, Madison, Me., in the category for parks under 225 sites.
Jason Adler, Warrens, Wis., in the category for parks over 225 sites.

Franchise Inspection Leader, “The Carroll Award”:

This award is given to the Camp-Resort that achieved the highest assessment rating of all Jellystone Parks. There were multiple Carroll Award winners this year, including parks in:

Bremen, Ga.
Frankenmuth, Mich.
Mill Run, Penn.
Sioux Falls, S.D.
Tabor City, N.C.

Jim Webb Spirit Award:

This award, named after an individual who has played a major role in the success of the Jellystone Park franchise, is presented to the franchisee who embodies the same spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to Jellystone Parks that Mr. Webb displays:

Rick and Shelly Spear, Estes Park, Colo.

Maple Leaf Award:

This award is presented to a Canadian franchisee for their commitment and dedication to the Jellystone Park system:

Kingston, N.S.

 Facility of the Year:

This award is presented to parks that have shown sustained improvements to their facilities:

Eureka, Mo., in the category for parks with less than 225 sites.
Wisconsin Dells, Wis., in the category for parks with more than 225 sites.

Dan O’Connell Service Award:

This award recognizes an individual’s strong support and work to improve and grow the campground industry:

 Special Recognition Awards:

These awards are presented to Camp-Resorts and operators who achieve high ratings on specific categories of park operations or marketing initiatives:
