Lippert hopes to add 200 jobs in expansion

MISHAWAKA, Indiana — Lippert Components could add 200 jobs in the next two years if it follows through on renovating and using the former AM General warehouse at 400 S. Byrkit Ave. and a property to the east.
The company, which supplies parts for recreational vehicles and boats, could invest about $9 million on the expansion. On Wednesday, the Mishawaka Common Council will first vote on 10-year abatements for real and personal property taxes at the site.
The city estimates the abatement could save Lippert more than $1.5 million in taxes over the next 10 years, leaving the company to pay more than $1 million.

  1. Didn’ t Lippert just fall way short on ite commitment to Goshen, regarding the number of employees they would hire? Seems like adding several hundred thy lost a couple hundred. I guess the development commissions job is to give away taxpayers money.

  2. It’s just more crooked business, Lippert’s specialty. I would bet someone will get some nice kick back.
