LCI launches RV Open Road mobile app

ELKHART, Ind. — Lippert Components Inc. (LCI) announces the official launch of the RV Open Road mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The app was developed by LCI and is the mobile companion to its newly redesigned RV lifestyle blog and magazine, RV Open Road.

The mobile app features a clean and easy-to-navigate interface, pre-loaded with hundreds of articles and blogs. The app’s articles and blog posts are sorted into helpful categories like Camping, RV, DIY, Tech, Blogger Love and more to help users find the content in which they’re most interested in.

App users can also create a profile by registering with RV Open Road, giving them access to enhanced features like saving “favorite” articles by tapping the heart icon next to individual articles. Once registered users begin to favorite content on the app or website, their favorited content is saved to their account for easy access.

The RV Open Road mobile app also features the new in-app, augmented reality game, “RV Commander.” The game, which only operates through the RV Open Road app, uses an anchor image to project a racetrack on which gamers navigate a tow vehicle and travel trailer equipped with Sway Command tow control technology to help avoid obstacles such as dangerous crosswinds, fallen trees and deer.

RV Open Road first launched in 2014 as a top RV industry lifestyle publication. The magazine, now into the seventh volume, has been distributed nationwide and features a variety of content from RV bloggers, RV industry experts such as the RV Doctor Gary Bunzer, detailed product upgrade information as well as technology, destination and how-to content.
