KOA sees record occupancy over the fourth of July

UNITED STATES –The 2018 Fourth of July Holiday results at Kampgrounds of America locations were up slightly from the previous record-setting year in 2017, according to figures released today by KOA.

The recent Fourth of July holiday week, which ran from June 27th to July 8th, showed an increase in occupancy of just under 1 percent from the same period in 2017.

Those 2018 results set a new record for Fourth of July holiday results for the 56-year history of Kampgrounds of America.

KOA camping results for major events and holidays have all been positive in 2018. KOA’s Care Camps Big Weekend in May was up 4.4 percent from last year; Memorial Day Weekend was up 2.1 percent; and Father’s Day Weekend was up 4 percent from the same period in 2017.

KOA’s Canadian properties have also fared well in 2018. Victoria Day in May was up 3 percent; and Canada Day on July 1 was up 1.6 percent.

Kampgrounds of America was born on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962. KOA is celebrating 56th birthday in 2018, and now has more than 500 great camping locations throughout the United States and Canada.
