Grand Design supports United Way ‘boat’ race

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Grand Design RV Company was recently presented the 2017 Hero Award from the United Way of Elkhart County for the company’s support of the United Way’s annual Great Cardboard Boat Race.

In true Grand Design fashion, the opportunity to support the community was met with an overwhelming response from the Grand Design team members, said Marketing Manager Melinda Scheuneman.

“With so many volunteers excited to participate, Grand Design was a proud sponsor for five of the 30 entries in the competition,” she explained. “These five teams constructed boats of just cardboard, duct tape and polyurethane in an attempt to race other teams around the LaSalle Bristol Corporate pond.”

“It’s great seeing our employees coming together and making a difference in their own backyard. I’m honored to work with such a caring group of people. With now over 1,000 team members on board, we look forward to continuing Grand Design’s participation in this event in the coming year,” said Don Clark, president and CEO of Grand Design RV.
