Grand Design recalls 1,662 RVs for slide room extension

WASHINGTON — Grand Design RV is recalling 1,662 2017 and 2018 Imagine travel trailers. The screws that secure the slide room mechanism columns may shear, allowing the slide room to extend while the trailer is being towed, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

If the slide room opens during transit, there would be an increased risk of a crash, NHTSA warned.

Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the slide mechanism column securing screws, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 22. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 574.825.9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is 910009.
