Fusion announces partnership with Airstream

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Fusion, a leader in lifestyle entertainment, announced today that it signed a partnership with Airstream.

Under the terms of the agreement, Airstream’s Class B touring coaches will be offered with Fusion’s RV-IN801 Infotainment System.

The RV-IN801 is an all-in-one audio/visual solution for open road and camping enthusiasts. Designed specifically for an RV, it provides A-class infotainment, superior RV-specific navigation and added safety, said Chris Baird, managing director of Fusion Entertainment.

“Airstream is the iconic brand that epitomizes the recreational vehicle lifestyle for so many people,” he added. “Now that Garmin owns Fusion, products like the RV-IN801 Infotainment System bring together the best of both companies in design and manufacturing. Airstream customers demand their vehicles to be built to the highest standard, which is why Fusion/Garmin was chosen. We are very excited to be partnering with Airstream.”

The RV-IN801 is engineered by Fusion and Garmin to deliver the infotainment functionality that Airstream customers rely on inside their home-away-from-home, while ensuring that the navigation system, with customized RV routing, directories of RV parks, services, route warnings, elevation profiles and hands-free features, give them the confidence and freedom to sit back and enjoy the open road.

The RV-IN801 includes a large, 8-inch, daylight viewable touchscreen display, with Bluetooth audio streaming and SiriusXM satellite radio availability. The unit is also ready to display the rear-view camera feed from a compatible camera, allowing the driver to observe following traffic and/or tow-behinds, for complete peace of mind and enhanced safety.

“We are thrilled to feature the Fusion RV-IN801 on our Interstate Grand Tour EXT, Lounge EXT, and Autobahn coaches, starting with the 2017 model line, which begins production this month,” said McKay Featherstone, vice president of product development and engineering. “The Airstream Interstate continues our rich tradition of quality engineering, spirit of innovation and superior craftsmanship.

“In our Interstate line of touring coaches, the renowned German engineering of Mercedes Benz meets the pinnacle of American design from Airstream,” he added. “We consider the result to be the finest in road travel; a best-in-class luxury touring coach that embodies the spirit of adventure without sacrificing the comforts of home.”
