Forest River fire damage assessed at $279,000

Forest River fire damage assessed at $279,000

ELKHART — A fire Sunday at a vacant manufacturing facility belonging to the RV maker Forest River caused $279,000 in damage, the total value of the building, the South Bend Tribune reported.

The blaze broke out about 3:22 p.m. Fire personnel arrived on scene to find flames shooting through the roof on the front portion of the building, according to a news release.

The remainder of the roof collapsed within a few minutes, causing large sections of wall to collapse as well.
