LOUISVILLE, Ken. — Entries are now open for the first annual Top Tech Challenge, held during the 2017 National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, November 27-30. The competition will pit RV service techs with a minimum of five years of experience against each other to determine the Top Tech of the year.
For the competition, RV service technicians will be asked to diagnose three different types of technical RV service issues, as fast as possible, in front of a cheering crowd. Eight techs will begin round one held on November 27 with the top four advancing to the second round. The four competitors in round two will square off with the top two remaining set to compete in the final championship round on November 30.
“The 2017 National RV Trade Show will host the most talented RV service techs from across the country and crown one of them the Top Tech,” said Liz Crawford, RVIA senior vice president, trade shows and events. “This new event is designed to bring excitement, fun and recognition to the top RV technicians who work so hard to make the RV experience memorable for millions.”
RV technicians are invited to apply now for one of the eight spots at RVIAshow.org/TopTech.
To enter, applicants must upload a copy of a valid and current RVDA/RVIA certificate or wallet card and supply three references from supervisors or customers.
Besides being crowned the Top Tech, the winner of the challenge will receive a trophy and split a $10,000 grand prize with their dealership. Entries for the event will close on August 17 and the final eight competitors will be notified September 5.
Attendee registration for the 2017 National RV Trade Show will open on August 15. The event features a large concentration of recreation vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, dealers and campground managers. It’s where the RV industry gathers each year to celebrate and showcase the RV lifestyle, discover new products, and engage with key stakeholders and corporate leaders.
