Dixie RV breaks ground for new location

HAMMOND, La. — Dixie RV SuperStores is expanding to its third location in Breaux Bridge, La.

Dixie RV held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new RV dealership location Oct. 20.  The new location will boast 14.5 acres with a 20,500-square-foot, two-story sales building and a 16,000-square-foot single-story service building with 14 service bays. The new dealership will be located at the intersection of Interstate 10, Exit 109/Hwy 328.

Speakers at the ceremony included City of Breaux Bridge Mayor Jack Delhomme and St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier.  The new dealership is slated to be completed in spring 2015.

Spartan Building Corporation is the general contractor and M. Matt Durand LLC is the site-work subcontractor for the new location.

Dixie RV SuperStores has been selling quality recreational vehicles since 1984 and has developed into the largest RV dealer in the state of Louisiana and the Florida panhandle, the release noted.

Dixie RV SuperStores in Breaux Bridge will have a new state-of-the-art facility offering a camping accessories store, parts, service and new and pre-owned motorhomes, travel trailers, toy haulers and fifth wheels.   Sales and property tax revenue will be generated by the new facility and operation of the new dealership will create many employment opportunities for Breaux Bridge and the surrounding area.

“We are excited about the opportunity to expand Dixie RV to Breaux Bridge. We have been proud to serve the Acadiana parishes from Hammond for the past two and a half decades and now we are proud to call Acadiana home,” said Greg Lala, CEO of Dixie RV SuperStores. “This property is easily accessible off of the highly trafficked Interstate 10, allowing us to better accommodate our customers traveling in the southern part of the state.”

“The development of the new dealership represents our company’s commitment to the community and surrounding areas of Breaux Bridge.  We are excited to be able to create new jobs for the region and to be better able to serve the customer base we have today,” added Stephen Guidry, president of Dixie RV SuperStores.
