Disgruntled employee kills five at Fiamma

ORLANDO — Five employees were killed in a shooting Monday morning at Fiamma, a business that makes awnings for RVs and campers northeast of Orlando, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The shooter — a former “disgruntled employee” who was fired in April — then killed himself, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said.

Four people — three males and a female — were dead at the scene of the business on Forsyth Road near Hanging Moss Road . Another male victim died at the hospital, Demings said. Seven other people inside the business were not injured.

The full story is available at the Orlando Sentinel.

  1. Another case of unchecked anger resulting in workplace violence. Tragic! Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

But on a side note…what is it with the race of the victims being pointed out and the race of the perpetrator being withheld in the media report? Are there racial overtones to these senseless deaths? Again, it seems like we are always getting filtered or selective information.
