Davey Blackburn to speak at RVI Prayer Breakfast

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In 2011, Davey and Amanda Blackburn picked up their life in South Carolina and moved to Indianapolis to form Resonate Church in the hopes of bringing new life to a city and reach people who didn’t know God. It was an uphill battle, but the husband and wife who were also best friends held each other up, and their calling began to find momentum.

Then in 2015, unspeakable tragedy struck when Davey came home from the gym one morning to find his wife, who was pregnant, with three gunshot wounds sustained during a home burglary gone terribly wrong. Their 15-month-old son was safe in his bedroom just down the hallway, but Amanda passed away the next day.The story hit headlines across the country, and the months following Amanda’s death brought Davey to the lowest level in his life.

But God spoke comfort to him in the midst of the storm, and Davey decided to turn it all into something good, just as his wife restored furniture from trash to treasure. He took that mindset and adopted it for for his mantra: Nothing Is Wasted.
