CURT celebrates 25 years in business

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — CURT, a leading manufacturer of USA-made hitches and towing products, is celebrating a particularly significant 4th of July this year as it marks 25 years of business.

CURT was founded in 1993 by Curt Tambornino. The company’s first products were trailer balls and ball mounts. However, it didn’t take long for our product line to expand and CURT’s loyal customer base to flourish. CURT has quickly become the leading manufacturer of made-in-USA trailer hitches.

Today, CURT manufactures over 1,000 different custom-fit hitch models, offering a vehicle-specific fit for nearly every make and model on the road. Each one of these hitches is made on American soil at its headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and each model is tested at the company’s research and development facility in Wixom, Michigan.

The company also manufactures the majority of its custom wiring and many more products in Eau Claire.

After 25 years of challenges and success, company leaders report they are excited for what the future holds. They said they anticipate continued success not only for CURT as a company but also for its customers and individual associates.

Moving forward, CURT’s commitment is to pursue innovation, industry-leading safety and opportunities for American manufacturing for both CURT and sister brands within the CURT Group family.

  1. Curt is my 2nd choice after B&W. Recently my neighbor had a problem with his Curt at a CG. Curt CS tried to get him going walking through many attempts. Finally sent him to a dealer 15 minutes away. Dealer contacted Curt and a new hitch was installed under warranty on the spot! Very good CS!
