CRVA reports RV wholesale shipments up 32.8 percent

CRVA reports RV wholesale shipments up 32.8 percent

CANADA — The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association is pleased to report that RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada for the 1st quarter ending March 31 totaled 17,831 units which was an increase of 32.76 percent or 4,400 units over the same period in 2017.

There were significant increases in: Travel Trailers (+36.7 percent), Fifth Wheels (+45.49 percent) and Motorhomes, combined all classes (+24.18 percent).

As reported earlier by the RVDA of Canada, national retail Stats through March 31 showed that 5,027 total RVs were sold during the 1st quarter in Canada representing a slight increase of 1.39 percent from 2017.

Canadian RV Dealer Inventory levels are now considerably higher as evidenced by the surplus in the number of RVs shipped vs retailed. However, Canadian RV shows have generally reported even to improved dealer retail activity as compared to last year indicating that dealer inventories should reduce considerably during the next quarter to more “normal” levels.
