CNBC puts Indiana in the top 15 states for doing business

UNITED STATES — According to Heritage Trail Adventures, Elkhart County manufactures one of every two recreational vehicles on the road today.

And, with the RV industry Association reporting that sales of RVs increased by 15 percent in 2016 with 430,000 units being sold, it’s clear the RV industry is thriving, and represents big business for Elkhart County.

It might come as no surprise then to manufacturers in the RV industry, calling Indiana home, that a new report names the state of Indiana as one of the better states to do business in.

Indiana is 14th on CNBC’s 2017 “America’s Top States for Business” list, which ranks each state on metrics such as the workforce and the cost of doing business.

According to CNBC, the Hoosier State rose two rankings over last year. And, the state gathered its highest rankings for its cost of living, cost of doing business and infrastructure.

The CNBC report puts Washington at the top of this list, and West Virginia at the bottom.
