Canadian supplier reports business bump in 2010

(March 31, 2010) -- St. Clair Technologies, which manufactures vehicle wiring harnesses for Tiffin, has hired about 15 employees over the past month and plans to add another 10 to bring its total employees to between 80 and 85, the Sun Times reported.

OWEN SOUND, Ontario — St. Clair Technologies, which manufactures vehicle wiring harnesses, has hired about 15 employees over the past month and plans to add another 10 to bring its total employees to between 80 and 85, the Sun Times reported.

“It certainly is looking up. Existing customers we have had are starting to see an increase in business and we are seeing a lot of new business as well,” Production Manager Ken Williams told the paper. ”It is two-fold why we are looking for people. It is nice to be adding people.”

St. Clair has recently taken on work in Owen Sound for Tiffin Motorhomes and continues to supply Azure Dynamics, a hybrid commercial vehicle company.

“We feel that from our end things are looking up and that sounds like what our customers are saying in the RV business and public transit business,” said Williams. “It seems to be steady for us.”
