CHICAGO — Camping World announced plans today to open their newest retail location in Kingston, N.Y. The dealership will be named Camping World of the Hudson Valley and offer a wide array of RV sales, service and accessories for outdoor enthusiasts.

Camping World of the Hudson Valley will be located at 124 Route 28/ Onteora Trail at Exit 19 off the I-87 NYS Thruway Circle. This new facility will feature both a Camping World retail store and Camping World RV dealership on-site and is in the location previously occupied by Camper’s Barn of Hudson Valley.

“Our newest facility in Kingston is convenient for RV travelers with the close proximity to Albany and New York City,” said Roger Nuttall, President of Camping World RV Sales. “Kingston is an ideal location for RVers that travel to explore architecture, museums and history of the Hudson Valley and the scenic beauty of the Catskill Mountains.”

The scheduled grand opening celebration is slated for August 2012. Customers will find bargains on hundreds of new and pre-owned RVs from top RV Manufacturer lines and a large product offering of RV parts, accessories and service.

The company has plans to employ a staff of 50 team members to increase their sales, service and support needs for this dealership and accessory store.  The newest location adds to the company’s strong presence in New York with other Camping World retail locations including facilities in Bath, Churchville, Hamburg, and Syracuse, N.Y.

“This expansion represents our commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales and service staff,” said Marcus Lemonis, Camping World chairman and CEO. “Demands for one stop shopping RV conveniences continue to grow and we look forward to providing our selection and service to the Hudson Valley region.”

The company has plans to announce acquisitions of additional locations in the next several months as part of Camping World’s disciplined and strategic growth strategy, in which the company continues to successfully grow the business and define itself as the clear leader in the RV and outdoor industry based on aggregate revenue, growth and market share, Lemonis explained.

  1. Is Camper’s Barn closing or did they sell the Kingston store to CW? This new release is the first I had heard about this.

  2. I heard that Reichart’s RV in Hanover, PA sold out to CW this week also. Anyone know heard any news on this?

  3. This is absolutely true I heard Marcus was there this week meeting with the employees. I hears this from someone on the Hershey Show staff. Not sure how this will work since the owner is the chairman of the hershey show. How is this going to be fair. This is totally out of control.

  4. CW took over rather than the store going out of business
They are in here now. We are all relieved. The previous owner was a liar and a thief. Marcus was here Sunday and did the deal. He is much different than I thought.

Some people are worried about their jobs but they are talking about making the store bigger.

  5. It is also the case that they have purchased Harbeson in Clearwater. Marcus was here three weeks ago. This will give them a great store plus Itasca and Fleetwood in the Tampa market both for their new store as well as the Tampa Supershow.

  6. I think it’s awesome that CW bought out Campers Barn. I think lots of promotions at the new CW store will attract a large # of Hudson Valley people looking to buy rv’s and service the ones they have. Thanks CW!
