Camping World to help Harvey victims

TEXAS — Two Camping World locations, in Houston and San Antonio, are experiencing the impact of Hurricane Harvey firsthand. Camping World Holdings wants to assist residents of these communities and has created the following efforts to do so.

Beginning today, all Camping World SuperCenters are collecting new or gently used clothing for adults and children to send to the affected areas. Pants, shirts, shoes, shorts, jackets … all types of clothing are needed. The company will ensure that all donated clothing is transported and distributed to those in need as soon as possible.

In addition, Camping World will be taking donations for the American Red Cross. Camping World will match total contributions up to $2 million. “You give $10, we give $10. All donations received at any Camping World SuperCenters now through Labor Day will qualify for the match, reported Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Holdings.

  1. Very nice gesture. Happy to see they are doing this but wonder ~~~ why as I don’t recall anything like this in the past. Sounds like a PR firm stunt to get people to stop talking about Marcus comments of a couple weeks ago. No matter as I hope they have to cough up the entire $2 million even if it does not change 1 mind either way.

I agree that matching donations is a good gesture but what was said by the C.E.O. can’t be undone or misunderstood. As most of my family are life long “Happy Campers” and boaters with numerous campers and boats on the Allegheny river and more importantly PROUD AMERICANS we are done with camping world, Overton’s, gander mountain and anything else that this anti American values non president supporter Marcus is involved in. Nothing like alienating the majority of your core customer group! Keep your finger in the dyke Marcus . . . we will see how that works for you.

Nothing like sensor ship what about this post was libelous it was the words from marcus himself? big brother

  4. Still doesn’t make up for Marcus being a traitor to our Country and making remarks about our President! When I cancelled my membership I was told by the cashier about the poor pay and how they are expected to sell a percentage of memberships or they are fired! Never will I step foot into their store again. And BTwfor everyone else wanting to cancel your membership you can’t at the store you have to call the main office
