Campers Inn completes acquisition of Clem’s RV

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — Campers Inn RV today announced it has completed the acquisition of Clem’s RV and Trailer Sales in Ellwood City, Pa., and Stafford, Va.

The former Clem’s stores will now be known as Campers Inn RV of Pittsburgh and Campers Inn RV of Fredericksburg, respectively. With this transition, Campers Inn RV now operates 13 full-service dealerships throughout the eastern United States.

“We are thrilled to raise our Campers Inn RV banners and introduce the company’s reputation of trust and integrity to the Greater Pittsburgh and Fredericksburg areas,” said Eddie Unger,  regional director of Campers Inn RV for Virginia and Pennsylvania. “We look forward to building long-lasting relationships with the RV communities in both regions, and we will strive to maintain the high level of service customers expected from Clem’s RV.”

Clem’s RV and Trailer Sales was founded by steelworker Clemente Giancola, Sr. and his wife Helen in 1964, and it remained a family-owned regional RV dealership for 50 years. Campers Inn RV began the acquisition process in July, and it is committed to maintaining the legacy the Giancola family built, the release noted.

Campers Inn RV now owns all assets of the former dealership, and it has moved Clem’s web presence to its own site at

The new stores are the latest additions to the company’s fast-growing roster of dealerships. Campers Inn RV opened its first Pennsylvania location earlier this year by acquiring Media Camping Center outside of Philadelphia. It also celebrated ribbon-cutting ceremonies for locations in Union, Conn., and Atlanta.

“Each time we enter a new market, we gain the opportunity to connect with more people who are passionate about RVs, camping and outdoor adventure,” said Jeff Hirsch, president of Campers Inn RV. “These stores will bring us to closer to renowned outdoor recreation areas like Shenandoah and Alleghany National Parks, and they will help us continue our mission of making the RV lifestyle an accessible dream.”

Headquartered in Kingston, N.H., Campers Inn RV was recently selected as one of RV Business magazine’s Top 50 dealers in North America again for 2015 and honored as the winner of the 2014 Innovation Award.
