Calls for tougher camping restrictions

(Oct. 8, 2015) -- A number of New Brighton, New Zealand, residents have asked the council to ban all freedom camping on the north ramp car park, which overlooks the sea.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Banks Peninsula and New Brighton residents are calling for tougher restrictions on freedom campers, according to The Press.

Dianna Donald told The Press ratepayers had to pay for the maintenance and increased costs associated with rubbish removal and keeping facilities, like toilets, clean.
