Airstream granted 15-year tax abatement

(Sept. 25, 2014) -- The Jackson Center, Ohio Board of Education approved a tax abatement for Airstream, among other business conducted during the recent regular meeting.

JACKSON CENTER, Ohio — The Jackson Center Board of Education approved a tax abatement for Airstream, among other business conducted during the recent regular meeting, according to Sidney Daily News.

The board approved a 15-year, 100 percent real estate tax abatement for a building expansion by Airstream Inc. Sidney Daily News explained the board recognized that such abatements have become common for both business and residential buildings as an incentive for residential and business growth, which, in the long run, will benefit the community and the school through the additional jobs provided and larger income tax base.

Airstream estimates an additional 125 jobs will be created with the expansion, Sidney Daily News reported.
