96 students complete MBA Rental School

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The 17th MBA Rental School was a tremendous success, the company announced today noting that 10 attendees indicated they will return next year.

“All of our sponsors have said ‘count me in for next year,'” said Bert Alanko, president of MBA Insurance, the organizer of the annual training event for RV rental dealers.

“It was fantastic! We had 96 students – 118 people total — and even welcomed students from Romania, England and Canada. We had someone bring a Chinese interpreter,” Alanko explained.

“The sophistication of the presentations by all the instructors has really reach a new high,” he added. “The positive comments are truly gratifying.  We had one very successful rental and sales dealer with 28 units attend for the fifth time. His comment was simply, ‘For the price, how can I not come and get a refresher every year to help improve my business?'”

Students commended instructors Martin Onken, owner of Expedition RV Rentals, and Barry Raye, the owner of 84 RV Rentals and Service and Rayewood RV Center.

“Barry and Martin were great speakers and very interesting to listen to.  I probably will go to the school every other year to see/hear what is new in the rental business.  I just took over rentals (and the company) about six months ago so this school taught me a lot,” one student noted on an evaluation.  “There are so many changes I can do to make us more money without spending money.  That was the best part!”

The dates for the 2018 MBA Rental School will be announced soon.

  1. Bert and the staff from MBA deserve much praise and gratitude for establishing and running the school each year. They all are very low key, but are giants in our industry. Their example teaches us all how to operate a successful business. As an instructor, I really appreciate the high standard they’ve set for the school.

    • Martin you are a very humble man. MBA staff and the people that attend this school are honored to have yourself and the other instructors. Martin you have set the standards for all of us to reach. I have attended the MBA Rental School 5 times over the years. Every year I go back to my business with so much enthusiasm and motivation to reach the next level in our Rental department. I have been in the RV industry 33 years and acquire useful knowledge every time I attend. Your are correct in saying Bert and staff are top shelf and icons in our industry.
