Mississippi RV club enjoys first Christmas on the River event

Tiffin recalls 528 motorhomes to correct refrigerator problem

(Dec. 8, 2009) -- A fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak. If a leak occurs and the refrigerator continues to be operated after solution circulation has ceased, the heat source could generate very high temperatures and cause the cooling unit to rupture.

(Dec. 4, 2009) -- Investigators say a neighbor walking by Jack Horner's RV in Truth or Consequences just after 2 p.m. Thursday noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. Authorities say the neighbor and the landlord tried unsuccessfully to rescue Horner.

RV wreck snarls Missouri traffic for five hours

(Dec. 3, 2009) -- According to police, Amanda R. Childress, 27, of Brookfield, Wis., was westbound when the RV trailer started fishtailing, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and run off the right side of the roadway, throwing a tire of the vehicle all the way across to the left side of the roadway as the vehicle careened down the ravine.

Florida city advances RV parking restrictions

(Dec. 3, 2009) -- The Gulf Breeze City Council expects significant changes will be made to the proposal city staff presented. The current proposal prohibits storing vehicles, travel trailers, boats, and utility trailers on rights of way for 72 hours or more. Overnight parking would not be restricted.

Refrigerator fire damages RV in Arizona

(Dec. 2, 2009) -- Kayla Holiman, fire inspector with Yuma Fire Department, said the fire originated at the back of the travel trailer's refrigerator. Holiman said the cause has been determined as accidental, but it will take further forensic testing to determine if it was electrical failure or mechanical failure.

A tray sticking out of a moving motorhome hurts two in Florida

(Dec. 2, 2009) -- An RV was exiting the O'Connell Center parking lot and traveling west on the road. Several items were stored on the bottom of the vehicle. One witness said a door on the side of the vehicle flew open and a pull-out tray slid out. The metal tray hit the pedestrians and then flew off the vehicle, according to police. A serving cart also came out of the vehicle.
