California budget deal may save state parks from closing

(July 23, 2009) -- Local state parks officials say that so far there is no updated list of parks being threatened with closure under the new budget revision. The California State Parks Department reportedly will face an $8 million cut in the budget revision that could be voted on by the Legislature sometime this week.

RV Trade Digest to cease publication

(July 20, 2007) -- Cygnus Business Media today said it has laid off 50 employees across editorial, sales, sales support and graphic design—representing about 12 percent of its overall workforce. In addition, the trade publisher is suspending publication of several of its titles. A Cygnus spokesperson declined to say how many or which titles are affected. Sources, however, said Modern Jeweler, Lustre, RV Trade Digest and Wood Digest are among them.

(July 27, 2009) -- "By this letter, my client hereby demands that you immediately and forthwith cease using, marketing, advertsing or otherwise employing the name 'RVeNews' in its trade name and/or as part of its domain name," wrote Stein. "In the event you fail to honor this demand within 30 days, you will leave my client little choice but to pursue its remedies through the United States District Court."
