VICTORIA, B.C. — Stephen Hume, a Vancouver Sun columnist, writes that he’s camped just about everywhere in British Columbia. So for those who have yet to discover the province beyond the city limits, he offers a few camping destination suggestions for newcomers.
Sited on an old Saltspring Island homestead, the Ruckle campground offers hours of rambling among the coves and tide pools of a rocky south-facing shoreline with spectacular views toward the southern Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands, writes Hume. There are 78 campsites but only eight offer vehicle access.
