South Cumberland State Park needs volunteers for 2 projects

(Dec. 6, 2017) -- South Cumberland State Park currently has two projects underway that could benefit from help from volunteers.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — South Cumberland State Park currently has two projects underway that could benefit from help from volunteers.

In the park’s recently acquired Sherwood Forest unit, about a quarter of the 2.5-mile Sherwood Day Loop Trail has been completed. Ranger Jason Reynolds is leading a volunteer team to continue building the trail, which currently reaches the Sherwood Natural Bridge and features a panoramic overlook with a view of Lost Cove and the Cowan Tunnel area.
