REGINA, Saskatchewan — No need to knock on wood, Mark Docherty said.
Not when Saskatchewan’s minister of parks and recreation can say things are going well with online reservations for spots in Saskatchewan’s provincial parks this summer.
Rolled out over a 10-day period, the reservations program had drawn about 21,600 bookings as of Sunday, with three more days to come, Docherty told reporters on Monday.
By comparison, 10 days of reservations last year generated just over 25,000 bookings, the minister said. This is the second year the province is using a system that not only allows online bookings, but moves users into an online holding queue before reservations start at 7 a.m. each morning.
