Resort finds new niche as base-camp

(Sept. 21, 2015) — Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort is becoming a base camp of choice for travelers attending fall food and wine festivals and Oktoberfest themed events in the New Braunfels area, the resort announced in a press release.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort is becoming a base camp of choice for travelers attending fall food and wine festivals and Oktoberfest themed events in the New Braunfels area, the resort announced in a press release.

“We are already getting reservations from people attending the Gruene Music and Wine Festival and Wurstfest, which is one of the best Oktoberfest type events in the country,” said Bryan Kastleman, managing partner of Hill County Cottage and RV Resort. “These events alone bring thousands of visitors to the New Braunfels area and many of them are discovering it makes sense to stay in our rental accommodations.”

The Gruene Music and Wine Festival runs from Oct. 8-11, and features numerous beer and wine tasting events, performances by major artists, including Aaron Neville, Pat Green and the Marshall Tucker Band and a Gospel brunch.

Wurstfest is a 10-day German-themed food and craft beer event that runs Nov. 6-15, at the Wurstfest grounds in New Braunfels.

New Braunfels also offers numerous venues for food and live entertainment throughout the year, including Gruene Hall, the Phoenix Saloon and Whitewater Amphitheater.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort has a growing inventory of over 100 cottage rentals, which includes both park model RV’s and manufactured homes. The park recently installed 20 new cottages, including park models built by Malakoff, Texas-based Platinum Cottages and manufactured homes by Athens Park Homes.

Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort cottages come in a variety of styles and sleep between two and eight people. They are fully furnished and include linens, towels, kitchen utensils and a flat screen TV with DVD player. Each cottage also has an attached deck or patio with chairs, a barbecue grill and picnic table. The resort’s 250 RV sites also include big-rig friendly sites.

Other resort amenities include a large outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, two indoor heated pools and hot tubs; a remodeled fitness facility; a Jumping Pillow; a jumping pad; game room with air hockey, foosball as well as video games; fenced dog walk areas; and several recreation halls and kitchen facilities for use by groups of all sizes.
