PHILLIPS, Wis. — With members of the Phillips Common Council voting to select a bidder to put in restroom facilities and electrical work, the campground project on the old city beach off County Road H moved one step closer to completion, reports Price County Daily.

The newspaper says City Engineer Mike Stoffel’s recommendation was to go with the contractor entering the lowest bid, S.D. Ellenbecker of Athens, on the condition that deductions be made for two areas in which the city could realize cost savings through substitutions. Swapping out copper for aluminum in campsite electrical work and switching to a different seam type for the restroom building roof would result in a cost-savings of about $24,000, according to Stoffel, who is quoted in the newspaper.
