Philadelphia Inquirer takes aim at tourists bearing arms

(Feb. 18, 2010) --  An editorial titled "Pistol-packing picnics" says, “For most tourists at Gettysburg and other hallowed battlefields and national parks, it's going to be a shock to encounter fellow visitors carrying a loaded weapon in plain sight.

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Inquirer has written an editorial titled “Pistol-packing picnics.” The editorial begins: “For most tourists at Gettysburg and other hallowed battlefields and national parks, it’s going to be a shock to encounter fellow visitors carrying a loaded weapon in plain sight.

“But that’s the new reality at most of America’s national parks, thanks to a wacky plan allowing visitors to pack a gun. It was hatched during the Bush administration, and President Obama failed to fight it when he took office last year.

“As of later this month, park visitors will be able to carry firearms in accordance with the host state’s gun laws. For states like Pennsylvania, and many in the West with some of the greatest National Park Service attractions, that means few restrictions on legal gun owners in parks.”

  1. Please write on the dangers of sanctuary cities. This must stop – my daughter had a near rape and I was pawed by some foreigner. They do not respect our laws or customs. ThenI was recovering in the hospital when a woman in a burka was stealing from me. I have never encountered such evil emanating from a human being.

Rape is unreported so other women do not know the danger that is prevalent. Our legislators must stop this foolishness! Please bring this to light. Several victims services are going to consider suing Rahm Emmanuel and the city for the rapes due to his policies in that state. They should deport him before he’s allowed to push his foolishness any longer and ruin lives.
