Northgate Resorts earns TACO marketing award

KERRVILLE, Texas — Northgate Holdings has won a statewide marketing award from the Texas Association of Campground Owners.

The award recognizes the high quality of Northgate’s printed and online marketing materials for its Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Kerrville.

“It’s really a team effort with all of our creative work,” said Tessa Wiles, marketing manager for the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company, which owns seven Jellystone Parks across the United States.

“We have a great team that works together to create fun, eye-catching designs for print, web, and social media. We love to bounce design ideas off each other to create on-brand marketing materials that stay true to the Northgate Resorts/Yogi aesthetic.”

Stephen Brom, a graduate of Kendell College of Art & Design, is Northgate’s graphics lead. Wiles is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

Located along the banks of the Guadalupe River, the 255-site Jellystone Park in Kerrville features more than 210 RV sites as well as 46 furnished cabins and cottages. Ten of the rental units have been extensively remodeled while nine are brand new accommodations.

Families that visit the Jellystone Park in Kerrville this spring and summer will see lots of improvements, including new and remodeled cabins, a cartoon cafe and a new water zone that opens May 20.

The new 19,641 square foot water zone, which is expected to open in May before Memorial Day weekend, features three water slides that are 20- feet, 160-feet and 165-feet long; two kiddie water slides; two water cannons; 13 water blasters; and a 750-gallon hydro storm, an elevated water tank that periodically dumps its contents on anyone who happens to be underneath it. A water zone launch party has been set for May 20.

The 32-seat Cartoon Cafe, which is expected to open by Memorial Day Weekend, will feature kid-friendly meals such as chicken tenders and hamburgers.

All of these improvements complement a growing array of onsite activities, including a gem mining sluice, miniature golf course, a gaga ball pit and laser tag.
