New day-use site being built at Marion Forks

(July 29, 2014) -- Work is underway to convert the lower campground loop to a day-use area at Marion Forks Campground in Marion Forks, Ore.

SALEM, Ore. — Work is underway to convert the lower campground loop to a day-use area at Marion Forks Campground, according to Statesman Journal.

The main campground will remain open during construction, which is scheduled to wrap up in September, Statesman Journal reported.

The day-use site will feature a paved interpretive trail, picnic sites and parking area. Improvements along Marion Forks creek for stream health and fish habitat are incorporated into the project, Statesman Journal noted.
