N.Y.: Spa City council won’t weigh in on campground proposal

(Dec. 21, 2017) -- The Saratoga Springs City Council voted against sending a potential change in zoning for an opinion from the city and county’s planning boards about a campground in a rural residential district Tuesday night.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The Saratoga Springs City Council voted against sending a potential change in zoning for an opinion from the city and county’s planning boards about a campground in a rural residential district Tuesday night.

Three commissioners believe a zoning text amendment for campground doesn’t merit a further review by the boards.

The council wasn’t asked to act on a proposed amendment to the zoning, but since campgrounds aren’t permitted in the district, council had to provide permission for the planning boards to even hear the idea to see if the change would coincide or conflict with the 2015 Comprehensive Plan.
