N.Y.: Ausable Point Campground damaged from storm

(May 8, 2018) -- "Ausable Point received considerable damage to trees as a result of heavy winds during and after the series of severe thunderstorms hit the area this past Friday evening," DEC said in a press release.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. — losing power in Friday night’s windstorms was Ausable Point Campground in the Town of Peru.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, the State Department of Environmental Conservation will close Ausable Point Road, which provides access to the campground and Ausable Marsh Wildlife Management Area, to clean up storm debris and restore power.

“Ausable Point received considerable damage to trees as a result of heavy winds during and after the series of severe thunderstorms hit the area this past Friday evening,” DEC said in a press release.
