(June 13, 2017) -- A returning black bear caused the temporary closure of the Three Frogs Campground on the north side of Lake Como. The campground re-opened June 12.

HAMILTON, Mont. — A returning black bear caused the temporary closure of the Three Frogs Campground on the north side of Lake Como. The campground re-opened June 12.

Tod McKay of the Bitterroot National Forest reported several campers saw a black bear this past week attempting to get into garbage dumpsters. Others have reported a bear coming into campsites and was unafraid of people. No one was injured in the bear encounters.
