(May 4, 2010) -- A growing number of private campgrounds are using more wind and solar power.

More campgrounds running on wind, solar, leisure power

Treehugger comments: “ When you go camping, you’re supposed to get away from it all. Put away the cell phone and laptop. Hang out by the campfire. Take a long walk or bike ride. Use more wind and solar power.

“That last one is a new routine at a growing number of private campgrounds in the United States.”

Growing numbers of private parks are investing in energy- and water-saving technologies, and stepping up their recycling efforts, reports the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
