(Nov. 16, 2017) -- Iron County will transfer a piece of property on Bates-Amasa Road at the Paint River to Bates Township for use in creating a park and rustic campground.

CRYSTAL FALLS, Minn. — Iron County will transfer a piece of property on Bates-Amasa Road at the Paint River to Bates Township for use in creating a park and rustic campground.

The county owns 42.1 acres in the area, but the county board Tuesday decided to transfer only the property on the west side of the river to avoid potential conflicts with Iron County Road Commission easements.
