MN: 100 evacuate campground after bomb threat

MN: 100 evacuate campground after bomb threat

AUSTIN, Minn. — Jellystone Park Campground was briefly evacuated this weekend after threats were made against it.

According to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi, officers responded to a call at Jellystone Park Campground at 11:02 a.m. Saturday. A ranger reported getting a phone call, which sounded like a recording, from someone with a Middle Eastern accent. The caller allegedly stated there were bombs and explosives, set to detonate at noon, placed around the campground and under campers, then ended the call with “Praise Allah.” The caller ID showed a five-digit number with pound signs.
