ALPENA, Mich. — An update on Rockport State Park was provided to the Alpena Lions at their past meeting. Lion Bev Bodem introduced Carol Dodge Grochowski, the Friends of Rockport president, and Blake Gingrich, the Parks and Recreation supervisor.
The 4,300 acre park was created in 2012 and is slowly being developed. With the help of a landscape and architect class from Michigan State University, a plan has been designed.
The exciting news is that there now will be money for a site development plan to have a campground built.
