MA: Petition started encouraging town to buy campground

(July 9, 2018) -- The campgrounds owner and manager Martin Costa has approached school officials and has revealed publicly that his first choice is to sell the grounds to the school district to expand recreational fields and the overall campus.

WESTPORT, Mass. — There is a movement afoot to persuade town officials to consider purchasing Westport Camping Grounds on Old County Road.

The land is adjacent to the proposed 5 through 12 junior/senior high school, scheduled to open to the public in three years. The campgrounds owner and manager Martin Costa has approached school officials and has revealed publicly that his first choice is to sell the grounds to the school district to expand recreational fields and the overall campus.
