Lakewood Resort hosts High Stepping Country

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — High Steppin’ Country, one of the longest-running shows on the Grand Strand, opens its 41st summer season June 15 at Lakewood Camping Resort’s Theater by the Sea.

High Steppin’ Country kicks off the summer season with a high-energy, two-hour show featuring a range of music that includes Motown, old and new country, gospel and patriotic medleys as well as a children’s section.

The show features 16 talented performers that sing and dance at the oceanfront amphitheater. Lakewood’s Theater by the Sea provides the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the show on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights until Sept. 1. The pre-show begins at 8:15 p.m., followed by the main performance at 8:30 p.m.

This much-anticipated musical performance has launched several careers for its young adult cast, from professional choreographers, dancers, musicians and actors to country music star Josh Turner.

All non-camping guests should park directly next to the Lakewood Properties building located on the frontage road to the right of the campground’s entrance. Complimentary golf cart shuttles will be provided to transport guests to and from the theater beginning at 7 p.m.

High Steppin’ Country is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. For reservations, please call (843) 447-7343. Lakewood Camping Resort is located at 5901 South Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29575.

Lakewood’s amphitheater will also host Sunday worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., as well as gospel concerts on Friday nights at 8 p.m. until Sept. 1. Admission is free and open to the public.
