LA: Fairview-Riverside State Park delivers something different

(Jan. 9, 2018) -- After visiting eight of Louisiana's 21 state parks, I started to worry. Maybe we'd seen it all somewhere between freezing and fishing at Cypremort Point State Park and hiking through the trees of Chicot.

LAFAYETTE, La. — After visiting eight of Louisiana’s 21 state parks, I started to worry. Maybe we’d seen it all somewhere between freezing and fishing at Cypremort Point State Park and hiking through the trees of Chicot.

What else is there?

Then my little family of four went to Fairview-Riverside State Park in Madisonville and found another new experience.

We started with a tour of the Otis House, a two-story Victorian built in the 1880s and remodeled in the 1930s.
