KOA announces plans for 2017 Big Weekend

KOA announces plans for 2017 Big Weekend

BILLINGS, Mont. — Kampgrounds of America will host its 2017 Big Weekend May 12 and 13 to raise money to support KOA Care Camps, a program which helps send kids with cancer to special camps for a week.

People who camp at a participating KOA May 12 have the option of staying May 13 for just $10. Throughout the weekend, many of the campgrounds plan special activities or meals, like pancake breakfasts, to help generate additional funds.

The Big Weekend helps raise funds to send kids with cancer to medically-supervised camps all across North America. Kids fighting cancer deserve a chance to attend a summer camp and to just be a kid again, the release noted. Funds raised from May 13 support the KOA Care Camps Trust which distributes more than $1 million dollars annually to support 125-plus Care Camps each year.
