Ind. Jellystone resort named one of the best U.S. campsites

(Aug. 6, 2013) -- Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Fremont, Ind., was featured as one of “the 9 best U.S. campsites” in recent reports by The Huffington Post and Grandparents.com.

MILFORD, Ohio — Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Fremont, Ind., was featured as one of “the 9 best U.S. campsites” in recent reports by The Huffington Post and Grandparents.com.

The report was originally posted by Grandparents.com in celebration of National Camping Week and subsequently posted by The Post 50 edition of The Huffington Post.

“We’re obviously very pleased to see the Barry and Corcimiglia families receive this kind of exposure and recognition,” said Rob Schutter, COO of Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems, Inc., which franchises Jellystone Parks across the country. “This kind of exposure further strengthens our brand and name recognition while introducing thousands of additional campers to the amenities that Jellystone Parks provide.”

The Fremont Jellystone Park was founded by Roger and Anna Barry and is owned by the Barry and Corcimiglia families.

Grandparents.com and The Huffington Post highlighted the Fremont Jellystone Park’s water and land-based activities and amenities. “This legendary resort offers tons of H20-related activities, including boats, pools, lakes, a water splash park, and three giant water slides,” the reports said, adding, “For landlubbers, there’s a playground and mini golf, as well as volleyball and basketball. Don’t forget to say hello to Yogi Bear and Boo Boo.”

Other Jellystone Parks across the country are also receiving significant media attention.

Earlier this summer, for example, the new Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Uniontown, Ohio, was featured on the cover of the June issue of Ohio Magazine. The park, formerly known as Clear Water Park Camping Resort, was originally built in 1947, but its latest owners joined the Jellystone Park franchise this past spring.

“Although it’s only been a few months, the alliance with Yogi Bear is really paying off,” said park owner Mert Yoder, who purchased the park 10 years ago with his wife, Charlene.

The park, which serves the greater Akron market, was featured in an Ohio Magazine story that highlights camping options across the state.

Meanwhile, the Fox 6 news affiliate in Milwaukee featured a report on the Jellystone Park in Caledonia, Wis., while KSFY, the ABC affiliate in Sioux Falls, produced a report on the Jellystone Park in Brandon, S.D.
