IL: State park staff honored

(June 15, 2018) -- Kankakee River State Park site technicians Corey Bennett and Rob Werner have received awards from Illinois Conservation Police Officer Holly Vadbunker for actions that led to the apprehension of two people for burglary.

KANKAKEE, Ill. — Kankakee River State Park site technicians Corey Bennett and Rob Werner have received awards from Illinois Conservation Police Officer Holly Vadbunker for actions that led to the apprehension of two people for burglary of the former prison property on state park property, off Illinois Route 102 and west of Warner Bridge Road.

Park Superintendent Stacey Johnson said the two park maintenance workers noticed suspicious activity and contacted Vadbunker, who apprehended the suspects, who were charged with multiple felonies.
