Fee increase at Flathead National Forest campgrounds

(May 2, 2014) -- Campground fees at Flathead National Forest will be changing to a charge per camping unit such as an RV, a vehicle with a tent, camper or trailer and additional fees will apply for additional vehicles.

KALISPELL, Mont. —  Flathead National Forest spokesperson Wade Muehlhof advises that there are some changes this year that folks should be aware of, including a change in some fees, KAJ 18 reports.

Campground fees will be charged per camping unit such as an RV, a vehicle with tent, a camper or a trailer, and a $5 fee will be charged for each additional vehicle, KAJ 18 explains.

There will be a $5 fee at the Holland Lake Day Use Area – consistent with day use fees across the forest –  beginning on July 1. The day use area at the Swan Lake Campground can no longer be reserved and will be available on a first come, first served basis, KAJ 18 reports.
